  this place has become far to jw ish for my liking.. free expression and rights to make reply are shut down by those who hold the key.. this forum is turning into an uber christian outreach program with those who take umbridge to them getting locked and deleted threads.

  it would perhaps not be so bad if the moderators actually communicated to people such as myself rather than cold cutting.

  they complain when we make a public outcry and tell us it belongs in a private message, yet cannot see 'the straw in their own eye' and do not use the private messages to communicate why they have done what they do.

  my mom does and has every ailment under the sun.. i know more people that are under meds for depression than not.. fortunately, i do not suffer from depression but i wonder how many do or have, especially if you were a witness..

  Quiet the mind periodically so that the inner you can be tapped into. It's a powerful thing to truly quiet yourself so that you can see the true person of worth on the inside that can be and often is in harmony with the rest of the world.

  That's a great statement CoonDawg . . . you got a way with words . . . I'm reading that more than once and it get's better each time.

  It's easy to see what sort of people others are . . . and easy to forget to see ourself . . . fully that is.

  Mr. Flipper Talks with Bethel Legal Service Desk Rep About JW Child Abuse

  well - i had been wanting to do this for a long time , to question a legal department representative at bethel about the child abuse settlements and jw child abuse, since last year when the news came out about it.

  especially since my dad , an elder for years was never aware of it and has on his own taken steps to see that families with children are informed if a former pedophile is in their congregation.

  i was curious as to what the current views and policies in place are .

  Thanks for the bump flipper . . . haven't seen this one before. Put me alongside the most disgusted poster here.

  The last post by XPETERX, on searching criminal records reminds me of an incident down here in Auckland NZ.

  We had a case where a fringing bible student with JW family (I think his wife was JW) was finally nabbed for rape. Turned out he was guilty of multiple rapes in the city (around 30) over seven or so years. By far the most notorious rape crime in this country . . . ever. And this guy for years attended meetings etc., as well as JW social gatherings. And oh yeah, he had already done time for sexual assault. His family kept that quiet.

  Makes me shudder.

  i don't post in discussion forums very much.. i joined this one a week or two ago, don't remember exactly.. tried to start a few threads to have real discussions.. but, instead of having real discussions, idiots just came in and posted childish nonsense.. so, i'm out..

  i was reading a thread on here the other day, and it occured to me.

  the very thing i have claimed in the title.. reading you all bickering over a certain subject.

  i assumed that some of you are only here to genuinely to create arguments, and i saw that some are genuinely lost and some of you dont believe they are lost but they are.. i saw you judging your fellow posters as if you knew something, but truth be told none of us do.

  A number of newer posters have come out of that highly controlled, sanitised environment where "all speak in agreement" . . . you know the one Pyramid . . . coming on here can be a bit of a "culture shock" for them, getting a bit of variety, but if they are new on their journey out, I for one would like them to get past it and stay for a while . . . this site can be of value to them. The world can be a lonely place otherwise . . . especially for the damaged (weak kneed if you like). Give them the B of the D is my take on it.

  I read in an earleir thread how you felt you couldn't be bothered . . . I encourage you to take the time to do it . . . just an idea.

  As I said . . . your sentiments are valid and I did see the point you are making . . . and I can see also that you are a little annoyed about some who "shoot the breeze" with little actual knowledge, not to mention those who seem to want to antagonise . . . it annoys me at times too . . . I have shut down my computer vowing never to return at least once in the past month.

  Interestingly, another poster has a few minutes ago announced his departure for the exact same reason. Several other recent threads have expressed their frustration at the stupid arguments and comments we get. Unfortunately the dipshits will always be here . . . that's life. The rest of us who follow a thread and endeavor to add something of value have to put up with it also . . . but don't forget we're here too.

  Simply ignore it . . . filter them out as you post and respond to those who offer something of substance. When a JW I met plenty of arrogant pricks . . . logic tells you some will end up here.

  I still feel you might have gone about your quest . . . how shall I say . . . a little under prepared.

  Stick around and modify your view a little . . . on balance it's still worthwhile.

  lifeisgood . . . I echo what Scooby Doo and Nicolauo posted . . . there are some dipshits here (but not many) . . . be careful which category you post in . . . I tend to avoid political subjects and they can stir things up a bit. The thing is . . . there a great majority here who are kind, generous, moderate and simply good folks who have much to share you can benefit from. Careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

  If you are off . . . then I bid you farewell . . . but consider revisiting some day.
